SIA Awards: Faurecia honors the Ecole des Mines d’Alès  Print
June 2, 2012

On June 2, the French Automotive Engineers Society (SIA) held its annual awards ceremony. Open to any future engineer with a passion for automobiles, the competition is meant to encourage the design and development of vehicles that address the challenges facing the cars of tomorrow.

As a partner to the SIA and an expert in the field of quality, Faurecia presented the Perceived Quality Award, an honor goes to the team of students who design and develop the vehicle with the most style and attention to detail.

This year the jury’s unanimous selection was HEMERA, the vehicle presented by the Ecole des Mines d’Alès (EMASIA). HEMERA is a hybrid that includes a wide array of sustainable materials—everything from the paint to the tires, seats and vehicle body. And the overall quality level rivals that of a mass-produced vehicle.

By coincidence, Faurecia will soon be hosting two members of the winning team for their final internship. These hires, which were made prior to the competition, are looking very promising indeed!
