⭐️2003 - @Volkswagen Type 1 "Beetle" 🎁 The Beetle (officially known as Type 1) was the first car made by German manufacturer Volkswagen. It was the brainchild of Austrian designer and engineer Ferdinand Porsche. Created in 1938 but only sold after the war, the Beetle was extremely popular, particularly in the United States where it was the first foreign car to make a name for itself on the market. It was the star of a series of five Walt Disney films, starting with ‘The Love Bug’ in 1968. It is also one of the most frequently used models for miniature cars. The last Beetle was made in 2003, when it was permanently replaced by the ‘New Beetle.’ #FaureciasAdventCalendar⭐️2002 - Audi A8 🎁Created in 1998, the A8 is the most luxurious of the German brand’s executive sedans. The second generation was unveiled at the end of 2002 and was named ‘Car of the Year’ by the French Motor Press Association in the same year.
Did you know? In 2009, Faurecia’s Neuburg site in Germany (which manufactures Audi A8 seats) received a rather unusual order for custom black and pink leather seats for @ladygaga’s Audi A8!⭐️2001 - @BMW MINI 🎁In 2001, BMW launched a new model, the MINI (in capital letters), the heir to the original Mini (1959-2000), otherwise known as the Morris Mini Minor or Austin Steven. It was originally sold under several different brands, including Austin, Morris, Rover, Wolseley, Riley and Leyland, before becoming its own brand in 1969.
The legendary model was created by the Anglo-Greek engineer Alec Issigonis at the request of Sir Leonard Lord, the chairman of the British Motor Corporation (BMC), who wanted to create a small, low-cost car following the Suez crisis and the fuel rationing that followed. #FaureciasAdventCalendar⭐️1999 - @Peugeot 607 🎁 Made from 1999 to 2010, Peugeot’s high-end sedan was the first car to have been mass installed with a diesel filter, co-invented with the help of Faurecia. This new system, which filters the toxic particles found in exhaust fumes, was made obligatory for all new diesel vehicles in France in 2011. #FaureciasAdventCalendar1998 - @landrover Defender 🎁Undoubtedly the most ‘emblematic’ of Land Rover models, the Defender was given its name between 1991 and 2016. However, it was originally known as LR 90 and LR 110 from 1983 onwards. The model’s first-ever prototype dates back as early as 1947 and was based on the frame of a Jeep Willys. Defender production came to an end in 2016 but Land Rover has announced its comeback for 2019! #FaureciasAdventCalendar[Season’s Greeting]
Since it was created, in 1998, Faurecia has helped put many emblematic cars on the road to success. Discover them daily in the Faurecia’s advent calendar! 🎄⭐️Faurecia has a brand new home! Our stylish new HQ offers Faurecians a modern space full of colour and light, with lovely facilities. Let’s inspire the future of mobility! 😍🚗Yesterday was the World Quality Day, lots of enthusiam at #Faurecia’s plants! 😄But first, we need to set up the room so we can show all of our technologies to our client. It is kind of messy for the moment but it will soon look perfect!
