Faurecia begins production in Thailand for the Ford EcoSport
This major project was made possible by the joint venture between Faurecia and local equipment supplier Summit Auto Seats – a partnership formed to help Ford fulfill its objectives in Southeast Asia.
Faurecia has seized on the opportunity to strengthen its presence in Thailand, where the Group has operated since 1996. The nation is set to become a hub for automotive manufacturing in the ASEAN region, with more than 2 million vehicles produced in 2013, over half of which for export to countries such as Indonesia, Australia, Japan, the Philippines and Malaysia.
