Faurecia-equipped Volkswagen Passat wins European “Car of the Year“ 2015 award
Faurecia supplies for the Passat the instrument panel, which combines lightweight design with leading-edge premium quality.
The instrument panel was made with Faurecia's Microject technology: a microcellular foam injection process that reduces auto-parts' density and weight.
Looking at style, the instrument panel comes with ambient lighting trim that also runs along the doors and lends a unique feel to the interior, tracing a fine line that graces the edge of the panel. The lightweight design is supported by a slim and more horizontal instrument panel as well as the continuous integration of the air vents into the overall decoration concept.
Besides, the use of premium materials combined with excellent cut management is ensuring the highest level of perceived quality.
Finally, it can also be noted that the VW Passat won the award against 6 other vehicles in the competition, 4 of them also being equipped by Faurecia : BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, Citroën C4 Cactus, Nissan Qashqai & Renault Twingo.
