Faurecia recognized with the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS-Award for its work in automotive interiors
Last Thursday, Faurecia was awarded the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS-Award for its innovative strength in the field of automotive interior.
Every year since 2012, the Centre of Automotive Management (CAM), an independent institute for empiric automobile and mobility research, awards the most innovative automobile manufacturers and suppliers in a total of 14 different categories.
The award ceremony took place during a conference held in Frankfurt by both the Centre of Automotive Management (CAM) and auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Thilo Ludewig, Director of Faurecia Autositze GmbH and Head of Research & Development Faurecia Automotive Seating, accepted the prize from Prof. Dr. Stephan Bratzel, Director of the CAM.
“We are constantly working on innovations, which are setting new standards in the fields of security, comfort, sustainability and lightweight construction, and we are therefore very proud that our work and dedication are finding recognition. Furthermore, this award encourages us to continue bringing excellent accomplishments to automobile development.”, stated Thilo Ludewig.
All AutomotiveINNOVATIONS-Awards are granted based on a CAM study. Vehicle technologies and innovations from car manufacturers and suppliers are collected and assessed qualitative and quantitatively. The technologies are analysed over a two years’ time period and evaluated according to their degree of maturity and innovation. An additional survey of car manufacturers’ perception of their suppliers’ innovation performances also backs up the award decision-making process.
A number of Faurecia innovations were decisive in the bestowing of this award – such as the vehicle interior concept “Performance 2.0”, the luxury seat concept “Oasis” or “NAFILean”, the first casting material out of natural fibre so far – which Faurecia initiated last year.
Prof. Dr. Stephan Bratzel, Director Center of Automotive Management stated that “Faurecia stands for a high innovative strength, as well as with practicable and environmentally compatible solutions in the field of automotive interiors – from decoration elements to car seats. The company is not only developing high-quality but also aesthetic concepts, and is furthermore recognized as an innovative supplier.”
