New Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies plant in Bangalore
The new site, which replaces an older facility with a lower capacity, went on stream last September. It manufactures hot and cold ends for exhaust systems, equipping nearly 1,100 vehicles per day.
The plant produces parts exclusively for the two nearby production sites operated by Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Toyota’s joint venture in India. It equips the Etios, Liva, Innova, Fortuna and Corolla models manufactured in the country.
During the official opening ceremony, Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motors, praised Faurecia for setting up production only 5 km away from its customer and commended the Group’s efforts, which have paved the way for Toyota’s growth in India.
“India is a strategic market for Faurecia, with a rapidly expanding compact diesel segment. We are making extensive investments in the country in view of the new Bharat-IV and Bharat-V environmental regulations,” said Thierry Depoux, Division Vice President of Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies (FECT).
Mahendra Killedar, Director of FECT India, emphasized that the new plant demonstrated the solid partnership between FECT India and Toyota, one of its main customers —a relationship that continues to grow.
