Faurecia continues its expansion in North America and dedicates itself to innovation

North America is one of Faurecia’s most important growth markets. In 2006, the Group posted sales of $1.9 billion in the region, which represents 13% of the Group's total sales.
Faurecia opened or expanded six plants in 2006 for a total of 25 plants and four technical centers in the region. The Group employs more than 9,000 associates including 2,000 managers and professionals in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Faurecia is proud to be a partner to the North American automakers, as well as several transplant OEMs. Its key customers in the region include:

General Motors (36% of 2006 sales)
Ford Motor Company (21%)
Chrysler (15%)
BMW (11%)
Volkswagen (10%)
Others (7%)

In 2006, Faurecia renewed that commitment by opening a dedicated Innovation Center in North America.
The center’s cross-functional team works closely with all Product Groups as well as with Faurecia’s European and Asian research and development facilities.

Staff at the innovation center continually screen current trends in order to anticipate future consumer needs and bring exciting new products to the market.

From personalization and customization to new materials and processes to sustainability, Faurecia is collaborating with automakers and other partners to reinvent the automobile for all of us.

2007
- Honored by the Society of Plastics Engineers for the TPE extruded perimeter seal of Faurecia’s High Integrated Door Module, as featured on the Dodge Nitro & Jeep Liberty.
- Groundbreaking of the new San Luis Potosi, Mexico, plant (automotive seating).
- Groundbreaking of the new Silao, Mexico, plant (exhaust systems).
- Opening of the Lansing, MI, plant (door panels).
- Faurecia presents its extensive seat comfort methodology at the IQPC seat conference.
- Honored by the French-American Chamber of Commerce-Atlanta with the Crystal Peach Award for contributions to the economy of the southeastern United States.

2006
- North American Headquarters relocated to Auburn Hills, Michigan.
- Opening of six new plants: Fraser, MI (interior systems); Sterling Heights, MI (seats); Sterling Heights, MI (cockpits and front end modules); Northwood, OH (door modules); Toledo, OH (exhaust systems); and Fountain Inn, SC (seats).
- Honored by General Motors as Supplier of the Year (seats).
- Honored by the Society of Plastics Engineers for the High Integrated Door Module with rail-less window regulator, as featured on the Dodge Nitro.
- Participation in General Motors’ Tech World.
