Seat

Faurecia produces the complete front and rear seating systems on the Audi A4. The front seats have an innovative patented recliner system called Varios, developed by Faurecia. This enables occupants to easily adjust their seat’s backrest position using a low-torque adjustment wheel. The front seats are available in both manual and electric versions, and - depending on the finish - can be equipped with side airbags, built-in heated or air-conditioned seat pads, adjustable arm rests with storage space, and electrically operated back rest and seat length. Bucket seats are also available for a sportier feel. The rear seats have one-third / two-thirds reclining positions, and can be fitted with a foldaway arm rest with built-in storage, curtain airbags, an Isofix anchoring system for child seats and a ski hatch.

Faurecia provides just-in-time delivery from its Neuburg plant in Germany. They are transported in trucks that can be automatically loaded and unloaded in less than two minutes without human assistance. This involves first loading a "false truck" in the plant to ensure that modules are placed in the exact order set out in the automaker’s production schedule, ensuring a seamless supply of parts to the Audi production line.

Front End

Completely redesigned, the new Audi A4 displays every hallmark of Audi’s "Premium" features and has a style very similar to the Audi A5, with a wide, low-slung singleframe radiator grill for that sporty feel. The Audi A4 is also equipped with a front-end module developed and made by Faurecia, comprising the front bumper system and structural components such as the headlights, the engine cooling fan system, the crumple zone and the impact absorption system. The structural front-end carrier draws on a hybrid steel-plastic technology with a design that allows for optimal component integration. Faurecia provides complete module assembly with just-in-time delivery from its Ingolstadt facility in Germany, close to the Audi plant.

The module also boasts the mEasy system, patented and developed by Faurecia, which offers a range of technical solutions designed to match the specific requirements of each automaker in terms of the "fit and finish" of the vehicle’s front end. mEasy is a mechanical system that facilities the pre-assembly of the vehicle’s front-end module off the assembly line, enabling final mounting without further adjustment. This ensures a high level of perceived quality through the rigorous management of the "fit and finish". Since the system was first introduced in 2004, Faurecia has developed several front-end modules equipped with mEasy, including the one on the Audi A4 – a perfect example of the way in which Faurecia’s expertise is widely recognized by its customers throughout the automotive industry.
