Faurecia continues its expansion in North America
and dedicates itself to innovation

  North America is one of Faurecia's most important growth markets. In 2005, the Group posted sales of
$1.5 billion in the region, which represents 11% of the Group's total sales.

Faurecia opened or expanded six plants in 2006 for a total of 23 plants and 4 technical centers in the region. The Group employs 8,000 employees including 2,000 managers and professionals in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Faurecia is proud to be a partner to the North American automakers, as well as several transplant OEMs. Its key customers in the region include:

  Faurecia is proud to be a leader in innovation and technology for the automotive industry. In 2006, Faurecia renewed that commitment by dedicating an Innovation Center in North America. Comprised of a cross-functional team that is connected to all product groups as well as Faurecia's European research and development facilities, the Innovation Center employs a variety of research methods to understand consumer needs and to bring exciting new products to the market. From personalization and customization to new materials and processes to sustainability, Faurecia is collaborating with automakers and other partners to reinvent the automobile for all of us.
 
2006 Milestones in North America
 
- Six new plants opened or expanded in 2006, including Fountain Inn, SC; Northwood, OH; Toledo, OH; Fraser, MI; and two in Sterling Heights, MI.
  - Governor Jennifer Granholm visits the Faurecia Fraser facility to recognize Faurecia's investment in Michigan
  - Honored by General Motors as Supplier of the Year for Seats for the year 2005. Faurecia also received this award for 2004.
  - Faurecia's Highly Integrated Door Module (HIM) with rail-less window regulator is honored at the SPE Innovation Awards for innovative use of plastics in the Chassis/Hardware category
  - Faurecia participates in General Motors' Tech World and Product Development Forum
  - The "Happy Attitude" design concept is introduced
