Instrument Panel

In designing the instrument panel, Faurecia worked hard to meet the needs of users in the Focus segment while complying with the automaker’s strict technical specifications. Here, again, the Group’s engineers made the most of texturing technology and virtual imaging to refine adjustments and hone their results.

All this brings a number of advantages for the customer. Faurecia has successfully met every technological challenge set by Ford and has enhanced the perceived quality of interior features on the new Focus while significantly reducing production costs. With the new Focus, Ford aims to make exclusivity more affordable.

Door

Made of a supple new textured synthetic material developed by Faurecia, the door modules and instrument panel clearly convey the character of the new Focus, rooted in refinement, longevity and quality.

Searching for perfection in every detail, Faurecia conducted extensive research when working on the upper section of the door panel, which comes in two trim thicknesses (1.2mm and 2mm) and is available in a range of new colors. This combination of color and texture enhances the car’s perceived quality.

At Ford’s request, Faurecia also paid close attention to the 2mm textured finish. Designed to convey a smoother feel and greater convenience, the panel trim acts as a second armrest, adding to passenger comfort. Faurecia paid similar attention to the door controls, creating a special design to convey the same visual and tactile impact as real metal buttons, but at a reduced cost.
