In a bid to meet the demands of the global automotive market, Faurecia is pursuing a proactive innovation and quality policy geared towards products and mass production. The policy is based on the Faurecia Excellence System (FES), a common approach promoting continuous progress leveraging the best practices inside and outside the group.
Taking joint steps towards excellence
Based on four key areas (leadership, development, production and customers), the FES system is aimed at achieving excellence in terms of quality, costs and lead times. Implementing some 114 core procedures, it drives all of Faurecia's businesses and functional areas, from research & development to sales, including production and corporate functions. With the FES system, work is organized among autonomous teams, partnerships are forged with suppliers, customers' expectations are defined, and quality products are consistently delivered on time.
This policy for operational excellence is pursued every day by Faurecia's 75,000 employees. The Group has launched an ongoing feedback scheme to improve working conditions and manufacturing procedures.
A challenge for the production units
By applying the FES system, every one of Faurecia's 238 production units must strive to reach the highest level. This approach for continual improvement has proven to be effective around the world, especially when opening new sites or radically changing production setups. For example, the group's plants in China already boast some of the highest performance levels.
