Optimizing the interior's availability
The room made available to the occupants and the conveniences enhance a vehicle's interior. Faurecia's solutions for spaciousness, on behalf of auto makers, focus on the ergonomics of the interior and the seats.
To make full use of its 3.95 m length, 1.71 m width and 1.46 m height, the Citroën DS3 boasts a particularly smart architecture: the instrument panel is raised to provide more legroom.
Faurecia's expertise comes into its own with the 3-door Volkswagen Polo, which offers more room for even better flexibility. The design of the front and rear seats has been taken back to the drawing board to offer as much extra space as possible for the five seats. The length of the cabin has been increased by 0.8 cm to 1.67 m to provide extra legroom. Shoulder room has been increased at the front by 2.2 cm for a total of 1.37 m. The rear seat easily folds back and offers a uniformly flat cargo area thanks to a double trunk floor supplied as standard.
