Weight reduction and pollution removal: technical and industrial leadership
One in five vehicles is fitted with a Faurecia exhaust system. The Group is therefore on the front lines when it comes to innovating for "clean" cars, which involves controlling the vehicle's emissions: combustion gases, CO2 and soot particulates (Diesel engines), recovering heat and reducing weight.
With expertise in the complete exhaust system, Faurecia allows automakers to comply with increasingly stringent international anti-pollution standards. Its R&D activity, credited as one of the inventors of the Diesel Particulate Filter, is currently developing exclusive expertise in the treatment of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and heat recovery.

The technological advantage of the co-inventor of the Diesel Particulate Filter
Faurecia is the co-inventor of the Diesel Particulate Filter with PSA Peugeot-Citroën. Faurecia filters remove up to 99% of the particles emitted during the combustion of diesel fuels.

Heat recovery: new environmental expertise
Alongside PSA Peugeot-Citroën, Faurecia has developed a unique process that recovers the heat produced by the engine to reduce the engine heating time and warm up the vehicle's interior.
