15% to 20% weight reduction
In a bid to produce lighter exhaust systems, Faurecia is developing solutions leveraging higher performance materials, such as replacing aluminum-coated steel with high-end stainless steel. As such, the weight of a complete exhaust system for the Audi A6 can be reduced by 15% to 20%.
The Group also produces fabricated high-temperature manifolds that can provide a weight saving of up to 40% compared to cast manifolds, while lowering pollution emissions by 10% to 20%.
