Making vehicles safer
The protection of car occupants and the most vulnerable road users (VRUs) such as pedestrians and cyclists is a major priority for Faurecia. The Group has implemented a comprehensive procedure to manage product safety from the development phase through to mass production.
The Group’s 28 R&D centers develop safety systems known as the Faurecia Care Systems (FCS) for each product line, whilst a transverse network within the Group coordinates the management of safety products.
Alongside its automotive partners and accident analysis institutes, Faurecia is currently involved in a number of projects for improving safety. Specific innovations developed within Faurecia to improve safety include anti-submarining systems, anti-whiplash systems, the Syntes cockpit structure, as well as energy-absorbing bumper bars to protect pedestrians.
