Continuously improving safety
Faurecia actively pursued its commitments to safety during the year in order to achieve the objective to not exceed a maximum of five accidents resulting in work stoppage per million hours worked (FR0t). Since 2002, the rate of workplace accidents has steadily fallen by 35% a year. The seriousness rate has also improved significantly. To ensure the organization’s longterm viability, the units apply safety management systems based on the OHSAS 18001 standard, or its local equivalent. On the subject of ergonomics and working conditions, occupational illnesses declared were mainly musculo-skeletal disorders (MSD). Faurecia has been taking steps to take account of the physical difficulties associated with different jobs and to find solutions. At the same time, solutions have been implemented at manufacturing workstations. An Ergonomics Guide designed to support training in workload analysis has been circulated throughout the Group. Finally, in terms of fire safety, much stricter procedures have been introduced to ensure that fire protection is high on the management’s agenda at all the Group’s establishments.
