[28/05/09] Faurecia opens global seat mechanisms center at Caligny (France)
Officially opened on May 27 by Yann Delabrière, the Global Seat Mechanisms Center is located at Caligny, near Flers in western France. Built on a 40,000-sqm site, the facility combines a manufacturing plant, an international R&D center and an industrial training campus. Faurecia Caligny, which represents an investment of €50 million for the Group, will ultimately employ 1,400 people.

Faurecia announces today the results of its rights issue with preferential subscription rights, launched on April 30, 2009 for a gross total amount of EUR 455,374,192, by issue of 65,053,456 new shares.

[28/04/09] Faurecia launches a 455 million euros rights issue with preferential subscription rights
Visa Nr. 09-109 dated April 27, 2009, granted by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF)
Within the framework of its “Challenge 2009” plan, Faurecia launches today a rights issue for an amount of approximately 455 million euros in order to strengthen the Group’s equity and improve its liquidity. The proceeds of the rights issue will be allocated to cover the shortfall in consolidated net working capital for an amount of approximately 250 million euros and, for the remaining funds, to improve the Group’s liquidity and optimize its financing costs.

Faurecia’s consolidated sales for the first quarter of 2009 totaled 2,007.8 million euros, slipping 38.1% in relation to the first quarter of 2008. Excluding monoliths, like-for-like sales were down 35.0%.

At its meeting held on 9 April 2009, the Board of Directors of Faurecia has formally recorded Mr. Christian Streiff’s resignation from his term as a director of Faurecia. The Board of Directors has co-opted Mr. Philippe Varin, who will take over as Chairman of the Managing Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën as of 1 June 2009.

Faurecia has been recognized by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. as one of three suppliers to earn its highest honor, the 2008 Global Supplier Quality Award. Faurecia is the only non-Japanese supplier to win this prestigious quality award this year.

Faurecia, an automotive parts supplier, and Toyota Boshoku Corporation, a components subsidiary of the Toyota Group, have today agreed that Toyota Boshoku Corporation plans to take over Sieto, a Faurecia subsidiary located in Somain, near Lille, in northern France.

On April 24, 2007 Faurecia – Europe’s second largest automotive equipment supplier and the ninth largest worldwide – signed a partnership agreement with the South Korean company Shinsung Delta Tech Co, Ltd for the production of instrument panels, door panels and center consoles in South Korea.

Faurecia has just taken over the 50% interest owned by the Portuguese automotive supplier Simoldes Plasticos in the share capital of Romanian company Euro Auto Plastic Systems (Euro APS). Faurecia and the Croatian car components manufacturer AD Plastik now each hold 50% of Euro APS's capital, with Faurecia taking full responsibility for the operational management of the joint venture.

Faurecia sales increased 3.7% to €2,589.1 million in the third quarter of 2006 and dipped 0.3% at constant exchange rates, excluding monoliths.
Exchange rate fluctuations had a negative impact of 0.4%.
