Faurecia posts stable third-quarter sales in declining market
Third-quarter sales fell 3.7% compared to the same period in 2002, to €2,228.9 million. The decline can primarily be attributed to the following factors: while the group posted organic growth of 1.5% in a European automobile market that constricted by an estimated 5% during the same period, its performance was offset by a 1.8% decrease in revenues from catalytic converters, the deconsolidation of the cockpit business in Ghent, Belgium (-1.7%) and a negative foreign currency effect (-1.7%).
