Faurecia tops the podium at the Auto Moto Innovation Awards
Faurecia's compact EHRS is particularly suited to hybrid vehicles and made its world debut on the new Hyundai IONIQ hybrid. It is also the most competitive solution on the market, able to reduce fuel consumption by up to 7% thanks to faster engine/cabin warming, and more time in electric drive mode.
Drawing on a decade of experience in exhaust heat recovery systems, the Group is currently developing next-generation systems and pursuing joint development projects with its customers, notably for its Exhaust Heat Power Generation (EHPG) technology.
Faurecia also won second prize in the Driver Assistance category for its Active Wellness 2.0TM seat technology.
Active Wellness 2.0TM is a cornerstone of the cockpit of the future. The seat offers a glimpse of how the cockpit of the future will ensure comfort and safety in all driving modes through occupant observation and data management. Active Wellness 2.0TM uses a set of sensors built into the seat and the instrument panel to analyze data on the driver's physical condition, including heart rate, head position, focus, body movements, etc.
It then uses this data to ensure the highest standards in safety and comfort by, for instance, altering the seat position, cabin lighting or audio environment. One of the system’s biggest benefits is its ability to help drivers stay alert by monitoring levels of drowsiness or stress and taking appropriate action. The seat is also able to "remember" the driver's behavior and preferences, and can predict the best comfort settings in either semi-autonomous or autonomous mode based on physical condition, time of day and road conditions.
