Hannover Messe 2023 - Faurecia to significantly accelerate the ramp-up of hydrogen mobility
•Two breakthrough hydrogen solutions for Automotive and Infrastructure in the European Market will be showcased:
•Containerized Hydrogen Storage: a lightweight storage solution aiming at drastically lowering the cost and CO2 footprint of transporting hydrogen, by storing c.1 ton of H2 in the equivalent of a 40 feet container.
•XL Gaseous Storage: a new 700 bar tank for truck applications which increases hy-drogen capacity by 80% vs current 350 bar solution and provides new vehicle integration opportunities.
The Faurecia Containerized Hydrogen Solution for storage and distribution offers world-class payload using large, lightweight tanks and modular architecture. Designed to store up to 1 ton of usable compressed hydrogen, this lightweight solution drastically lowers the cost and CO2 footprint of transporting hydrogen.
Speaking ahead the event, Senior Vice President of Faurecia Hydrogen Solutions, Yves Dumoulin said, “I am looking forward to showing Faurecia’s latest innovations for hydrogen storage and to be part of the panel discussion on Heavy Duty Trucks – is Hydrogen the future? This is a great opportunity to show the maturity of our hydrogen solutions for heavy mobility.”
Yves Dumoulin commented, “In order to leverage the full potential of hydrogen for industrial purposes, we need to maximize its efficiency, both by increasing the driving range of hydrogen powered vehicles and by lowering the cost of hydrogen distribution.”
Also on display will be the Faurecia XL Gaseous storage designed to maximize driving range and comply with higher pressure needs. This 700 bar tank for truck applications brings almost 80% higher hydrogen capacity than 350 bars and provides new solutions of vehicle integration. The XL-Type IV composite tank has been developed to comply with side tank truck installation and belt mounting. This large tank solution brings the best weight performance with a ratio beyond 7% at 700 bars.
Managing Director of Faurecia Hydrogen Solutions Germany, Murat Aydemir said: “The German hydrogen ecosystem is very active and inspiring. We are all working with the same objective: ensuring the adoption of hydrogen technology to build a better world. The team and I are looking forward to participating to Hannover Messe and to representing Faurecia at this important European fair.”
Faurecia will exhibit alongside Symbio, the joint venture created with Michelin, that is dedicated to the design, manufacturing and market of fuel cell systems. Together the FORVIA Group and Symbio cover 75% of the hydrogen powertrain value with hydrogen storage systems and fuel cell stack systems.
Faurecia has invested more than €300 million in R&D, manufacturing, strategic partnerships and acquisitions since 2018 and targets €3.5bn sales (combined with Symbio) by 2030.
Meet Faurecia & Symbio in Hall 13 at Booth C53 and discover how the two companies continuously innovate to enhance a full range of sustainable solutions for the energy transition.
In addition to its exhibition Faurecia will participate in the following events:
- Yves Dumoulin, Senior Vice President Faurecia Hydrogen Solutions, will be part of the panel discussion titled Heavy Duty Trucks – is Hydrogen the future? On Monday, April 17th at 2.00pm
