Sustainable mobility and environmental protection are among the biggest challenges for the automotive industry. We aim to minimize the environmental impact of our activities – whether in designing products or optimizing production processes.
Faurecia is a leading player in efforts to produce lighter-weight vehicles that reduce fuel consumption and decrease GHG emissions. Through our emissions control technologies we’re making a significant contribution to lowering emissions, reducing noise pollution and creating solutions to recover and reuse energy. As our products can represent up to 25% of a vehicle’s total mass, limiting the use of raw materials in vehicle manufacturing has become one of our strategic priorities. We continue pioneering research into the use of materials – from new composites to biosourced resins.
To contribute further to the production of lighter and cleaner vehicles, Faurecia takes environmental factors into account at all stages in the product life cycle, from the initial design to end-of-life management, including energy efficiency, waste management and recovery at production sites and collaboration with suppliers. In 2015, 66% of our industrial sites were ISO 14001 certified.
