Energy savings at Faurecia’s Ourense plant
In early 2016, to improve the plant’s environmental performance and reduce its energy bill, the management team decided to replace the entire lighting system with LED bulbs that consume far less energy. This project was supported by the Government of Galicia, which subsidized one-third of the cost as part of a European energy savings program. After the new lighting system had been installed, the site’s energy consumption for lighting fell by more than 70%.
This an exemplary result in both economic and ecological terms for this site, which is one of the 160 Faurecia sites that are ISO 14001 certified.
